Liberty Live offers a wide variety of historically accurate, action-oriented Learning Experiences designed to strengthen the learner's understanding of the life and events during the American Revolution. Learning Experiences are interdiciplinary and incorporate STEM/STEAM components and activities where appropriate.
Learning Experiences are aligned with:
Liberty Live works in conjunction with the Southern Campaign 1780 Artillery Team, members of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment of the Continental Line, members of the Southeastern Civilian Living Historians, members of the Colonial Living History Interpreters, and various other colonial history experts and volunteers to ensure historical accuracy and integrity of our programs.
Through customizable programs, Liberty Live brings the American Revolution and life in the South Carolina Backcountry directly to the classroom. By selecting Learning Experiences from seven (7) categories and five (5) different formats, teachers can design a high impact learning experience that fits their students' needs and their school's budget.
This program explores the American Revolution/SC Backcountry through the lenses of the science, forensics, math, technology and other content areas to provide students an interconnected understanding of the time period and events therein. Embedding the history in other core content areas will maximize critical thinking skills essential to 21st Century learners as they approach historical events from different perspectives. This program is geared primarily toward 8th grade through high school AP courses and can be used to combine core content subjects into one in-house field study (i.e. Biology/US History, AP Bio/APUSH, Chem I/US History, Integrated Science/US History. Physics/APUSH, and more).
Kicking off Southern Campaign 1780's Battle of Camden Reenactment, the Liberty Live Education Day is a multi-county wide education day for all public, private, and home schools. A whole morning is dedicated to hosting students, of all ages, as they engage with American Revolution-era reenactors, merchants and demonstrators from all over the United States. The Battle of Camden is the LARGEST ANNUAL FORCE-ON-FORCE REENACTMENT IN THE NATION which makes our Liberty Live Education Day second to none!
The Liberty Live Lecture Series centers around topics related to colonial South Carolina and the American Revolution. The degree of audirnce participation depends on the topic, presenter, and/or group for whom the presentation is designed.
These presentations are appropriate for commemoration celebrations such as Black, Women's, and/or Native American History Month, as well as DAR, SAR, CAR, Colonial Dames XVII Century and other organizations.
Liberty Live offers a wide variety of colonial workshops to groups looking for unique meeting programs. Workshops are suitable for genealogy/historical societies, Scouts (we can help your Scouts earn the DAR Patriotic Heritage Scout Badge), church groups, historic sites, summer camps, etc.
